With the Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, there are an increasing number of people going back home eagerly to join the family union. After they arrive at home, there will be a pleasant family dinner. Of course, the most important parts of this festival are admiring the full moon and eating moon-cakes. The moon-cake is usually children's favourite.
But, nowadays, some people criticize that just like other traditional festivals, the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival have been lost. The festival has become an excuse for businessmen to make a profit. One of the evidences is piles of well-packed and expensive gift boxes of moon-cakes in the supermarket.
However, from my point of view, the real meaning of the existence of this festival is family union, cheap
hats, which has deeply taken root in Chinese people's minds. When the festival was created, its original intention was to express people's homesickness because it was difficult for our ancestors to go back home from somewhere thousands miles away. Hundreds years later, the development of modern transportation facilitates our way to home. And I'm very glad to see that people's emotion to home has never lost.
